About the residency

Studio Faire is an artist-led residency located in the Lot-et-Garonne region of France, founded on the principle of providing self-directed time and space for writers and makers. Housed in a restored 19th-century maison de maรฎtre, the residency offers a quiet, domestic environment that prioritizes process over production. Its core mission is to support individuals at any career stage who need uninterrupted time to develop work without the pressures of exhibition or publication deadlines. The program is intentionally small-scale, accommodating a handful of residents at a time, which fosters a collegial and uncompetitive atmosphere.

Planning your application

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with a simple online form and a modest fee. The selection committee looks for clarity of intent rather than polished proposals; a concise statement of what you hope to work on and why this environment suits you is sufficient. There is no requirement for a finished product. Artists should note that the residency is self-catering and that the rural location demands a degree of self-sufficiency. It is advisable to apply well in advance, as spots fill quickly for peak seasons.
