About the residency
Venezia Contemporanea is a global, peripatetic arts organization that operates at the intersection of contemporary art and critical discourse. Founded with the ethos of fostering international dialogue and experimentation, it has no fixed physical home, instead staging exhibitions, residencies, and public programs in diverse locations—from Venice to Helsinki. Its core mission is to support artists and thinkers who engage with the complexities of the present, emphasizing process, context, and cross-cultural exchange over static presentation.

Artists should approach Venezia Contemporanea with a clear articulation of how their practice engages with site, dialogue, and contemporary issues. Proposals for its open calls—such as the Hub Feenix Digital Nomads residency—should demonstrate a willingness to work in non-traditional spaces and to participate in collective discourse. Ensure your application reflects the organization's nomadic, process-oriented spirit, and avoid generic project descriptions; specificity and critical awareness are key.
