This residency was designed to allow emerging contemporary artists time and space to create new work exploring their practice. Artists may submit a proposal of how they intend to utilize the space as a studio to create new work or a specific project. The residency will culminate in a solo closing reception that is promoted across our extensive network. Proposals should have a contemporary art focus showing experimentation and career reach for the artist. We are especially interested in projects that involve conceptual art, practice or theory or involve the public in their creative process. Program Goals: To offer support and space to artists and encourage them to experiment and explore their concepts amongst a community of artists as they move their work forward in the contemporary art world

The artistic residency project aims to provide artists with an opportunity to expand their research, take risks, share and realize new ideas. ARNA is a nonprofit organsation in Sweden. They work through the Culture Dimension of sustainability in the The Avian Kingdom. Their vision for the area is for it to become the world's first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve to include the Culture Dimension of sustainability in its foundation. ARNA stands for Art and Nature. In the center of their, mainly, project bound work they place the artist in residence, a hub for artists from around the world to explore and express human's relationships towards nature and to unfold culture's role in a sustainable development. ARNA announces, during the winter and spring, 3-4 calls for projects and residency periods each year. Each residency period, or project, has different aim and financing. Sometimes ARNA offer periods for rent without any obligations from their side, other times they offer Accommodation Grants and in return they ask for a concert or other public engagement. And sometimes it is a project where the artists dedicate their time at ARNA to the aims of a project and in those cases the organizers might also be able to pay for the flights. Therefore, it is important to read the information within each call for applications.
In keeping with the focus of Art Collection Deutsche Telekom on contemporary art from Eastern Europe, the new residency will be dedicated to artists from / or who stand in relation to this region, who work at the interface between art, technology and science and who are particularly interested in researching the social impact of technological developments. This new artists-in-residence program aims to foster interaction between international artists, researchers and scientists and Eastern European partners from research or industry. This program is intended to create a space for encounters in which artistic practice and scientific research can be combined in the best possible way. For the selected artistic concept, unless it was submitted jointly or with reference to an academic partner, a scientific mentor/an academic partner institution will be sought and proposed.
