About the magazine

108 Contemporary is a nonprofit gallery in Tulsa, Oklahoma, dedicated to the presentation and promotion of contemporary craft. Founded in 2011 as the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition's project space, it became an independent organization in 2013 and moved to the historic Brady Arts District. The gallery's mission is to advance the understanding and appreciation of contemporary craft through exhibitions, educational programs, and community engagement. It provides a platform for both emerging and established artists working in clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, and mixed media, with a particular emphasis on artists with a connection to Oklahoma and the surrounding region.

Submitting your work

Reading periodOpen now

Artists should submit work that demonstrates a strong command of craft media and a clear artistic voice. The gallery favors proposals that are well-conceived, visually compelling, and feasible within the space. While there is no strict requirement for Oklahoma residency, proposals that engage with the region's craft traditions or community are particularly welcome. Review the gallery's past exhibitions to understand its aesthetic and curatorial interests. Submit a concise proposal with high-quality images, an artist statement, and a detailed exhibition plan. Deadlines are typically announced on the website and social media; early submission is encouraged.
