About the magazine

addanomadd is an online platform and curatorial project that emerged in the early 2020s as a response to the increasing commercialization of digital art spaces. Founded by a collective of artists and writers, it operates as a decentralized network rather than a traditional institution, emphasizing horizontal collaboration and process over product. Its core mission is to foster experimental practices that resist easy categorization, with a particular focus on text-based, net-native, and ephemeral works that challenge conventional exhibition formats.

Editorial focus

addanomadd is a collective interested in the exercise of post-human, nomadic writing. The name intends to infer what by nature reflects a circularity: the transhuman pace through this time and space as fugitives in search of the meaning that doesn’t actually exist—an invented word with no origin or unique tongue able to evoke the image of a fairy and her name, the numen, the sum which wants to discover itself/themselves fragmented in parts or as palindrome: addanomaddanomaddanomadd … ad infinitum.

Artists should approach addanomadd with a clear understanding of its ethos: prioritize concept and experimentation over polished presentation. Submissions are typically reviewed on a rolling basis, but response times can vary due to the collective's volunteer nature. Include a concise artist statement that contextualizes your work within digital or experimental practices, and be prepared for a collaborative editing process if accepted. Avoid generic portfolios; instead, tailor your proposal to the platform's focus on process, ephemerality, and critical engagement.

addanomadd publishes a different call for submissions for every issue. The criteria for the texts will vary according to the coeditor-in-turn, and depending on the selected theme for that issue. Please follow the guidelines carefully.
