Editorial focus
ANGLES publishes creative writing and visual art by college-aged people with distinct perspectives. Edited by students at Saint John Fisher University, ANGLES prioritizes underrepresented voices, isn’t afraid to take risks, and takes pride in being among a writer’s first publications. ANGLES values traditions but is keen on challenging them.
Submitting your work
Writers should approach ANGLES with an understanding of its academic affiliation and literary sensibilities. Submissions are typically open during specific reading periods, so checking the website for current calls is essential. Work should be polished, original, and demonstrate a clear command of language; experimental pieces are welcome but should be grounded in intentional craft. Simultaneous submissions are often accepted, but prompt notification of acceptance elsewhere is expected. Include a brief cover letter and adhere strictly to genre guidelines and word limits. Given the magazine's ties to St. John Fisher University, contributors may also find opportunities for engagement with the campus literary community.
