About the magazine

Blue Marble Review is a literary and arts journal founded in 2015 with the mission to publish and support the creative work of young writers and artists, typically aged 13 to 22. The journal was established on the belief that youthful perspectives are not merely preparatory but vital and immediate, deserving of a serious platform. It publishes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art, with an emphasis on work that demonstrates authenticity, curiosity, and a willingness to engage with the world in complex ways. The review operates as both a publication and a community, offering a space where emerging voices can be read alongside one another and where the process of submission is treated as part of an educational and artistic journey.

Editorial focus

Blue Marble Review is an online literary journal showcasing the creative work of young writers ages thirteen to twenty-two. The editors are looking for poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, personal essays, as well as art and photography. The goal of the journal is to assemble in each issue a broad range of voices, perspectives, and life experiences.

Unsolicited submissionsYes

Blue Marble Review accepts submissions from writers and artists aged 13 to 22. Work should be original and previously unpublished. The journal reads year-round, though response times may vary. Young artists should submit polished but authentic work—pieces that reflect their own voice and perspective rather than what they think editors want. Simultaneous submissions are generally accepted, but please notify promptly if your work is placed elsewhere. Include a brief bio with your age and a short statement about your creative interests. Visual art submissions should be high-resolution and accompanied by a title list and medium descriptions. The editors value clarity, emotional honesty, and a sense of discovery. Do not send work that is derivative or overly imitative; they are looking for the spark of a distinct sensibility, however unrefined. Proofread carefully, but do not sand away the idiosyncrasies that make your voice yours.
