About the magazine

The Cambridge Writers' Workshop (CWW) is an independent literary organization founded in 2008 by writers Rita Banerjee and Diana Norma Szokolyai. Rooted in the belief that serious craft development thrives in intimate, non-hierarchical settings, CWW offers workshops, retreats, and editorial services that prioritize rigorous feedback and cross-genre experimentation. Its programs—ranging from short courses to international writing retreats in Paris, Granada, and New Orleans—are designed to foster a community of writers attentive to both the sentence-level and the broader stakes of their work. CWW's ethos is one of generous rigor: participants are expected to read closely, revise deeply, and engage with literary tradition without being bound by it.

Submitting your work

Reading periodOpen now

CWW does not have a traditional submission process for publication; instead, it invites applications for its workshops and retreats on a rolling or seasonal basis. Prospective participants should visit the website for specific calls, which typically require a brief statement of interest and a writing sample. The organization values demonstrated commitment to revision and a willingness to engage with peers' work. Financial aid and scholarships are occasionally available, and applicants are encouraged to inquire directly. Given the small scale of programs, early application is advised.
