About the magazine

The Christkindl Markt, hosted by the Canton Museum of Art (CMA) in Canton, Ohio, is a juried fine art and fine craft market held annually during the holiday season. Established in 1973, it has grown into one of the region's most anticipated cultural events, transforming the museum's galleries into a festive marketplace. The market's founding ethos is to support artists and craftspeople by providing a direct sales venue, while offering the public an opportunity to purchase unique, handmade goods. Over its 50-plus year history, Christkindl Markt has remained committed to showcasing high-quality, original work, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the museum's educational programs and exhibitions.

Submitting your work

Artists should apply through the official call posted on the Canton Museum of Art website, typically in the spring. The jury seeks original, handmade fine art and fine craft in various media, including ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, fiber, and mixed media. Emphasis is placed on quality, craftsmanship, and originality; reproductions or mass-produced items are not accepted. A booth image and images of current work are required. Accepted artists pay a booth fee and are expected to be present for the duration of the event. Given the competitive nature, artists are advised to submit high-quality images and ensure their work aligns with the market's fine art focus. Early application is recommended, and artists should carefully review the prospectus for specific deadlines and requirements.
