About the magazine

Clover + Bee Magazine is an independent online literary and arts publication founded in 2018 by a collective of writers and artists seeking a space for work that engages with the natural world, rural life, and environmental themes. The magazine publishes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art that explore the intersections of ecology, place, and community. Its mission is to foster a thoughtful, inclusive conversation about the environment and our relationship to it, prioritizing work that is both artistically rigorous and accessible.

Editorial focus

The name for Clover + Bee was inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem, To Make a Prairie … ( “To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee ...”) Its mission is to provide a space for emerging and established creators to showcase their work and create a “prairie” of beauty and emotion. By publishing powerful prose, evocative poetry, and stunning pieces of art, the editors strive to offer an opportunity for creators and readers to experience some much-needed reverie.
