About the magazine

Fecund is an online literary and arts magazine founded in 2018 with the aim of showcasing work that engages with themes of fertility, creativity, and the natural world. The magazine publishes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and visual art on a rolling basis, with a particular interest in pieces that explore the intersections of ecology, body, and imagination. Its founding ethos centers on the belief that creative work can be a site of abundance and regeneration, and it seeks to provide a platform for both emerging and established voices.

Editorial focus

Fecund highlights exceptional works of new abundance. The magazine is a medium through which writers and visual artists are exquisitely showcased and paid for their work. Fecund publishes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, theory, criticism, fashion writing, and visual art via interdisciplinary media (text, audio, video, new media).

Fecund accepts submissions year-round via email. They welcome simultaneous submissions but ask that you notify them immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere. For written work, send up to 5 poems or one prose piece of up to 3,000 words. For visual art, submit up to 5 high-resolution images. Include a brief cover letter and a third-person bio. Response times vary, but generally range from 2 to 4 months. They appreciate work that is polished, original, and aligns with the magazine's thematic focus on fecundity, ecology, and the body.

Although we don’t conform to one aesthetic, we respond to work that challenges traditional forms or embraces liminality.
