About the magazine

Founded in 1980, it has maintained a consistent commitment to publishing contemporary poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction by emerging and established writers. The journal is edited by faculty and graduate students, and its ethos is rooted in the university's land-grant mission of accessible literary education and the belief that rigorous, thoughtful writing deserves a wide audience. Each issue features a blend of new voices and more familiar ones, with an emphasis on craft and clarity over trend or provocation.
