About the magazine

Literary Veganism: An Online Journal was founded in 2018 as a digital platform dedicated to writing that engages with veganism as a critical, ethical, and aesthetic practice. Rejecting the stereotype of vegan literature as mere advocacy, the journal positions itself at the intersection of contemporary poetics, environmental humanities, and animal studies. Its mission is to publish work that interrogates the politics of consumption, species hierarchy, and the body, while remaining attentive to the formal possibilities of language. The journal is run by a small editorial collective and appears in quarterly online issues, with occasional print anthologies.

Editorial focus

Literary Veganism is looking for animal or environmentally friendly writing. Authors do not have to be vegan to submit, but many readers are vegan.
