Editorial focus
Founded in 2009, Lowestoft Chronicle is an online literary magazine, published quarterly, accepting flash fiction, short stories, poetry, interviews, and creative nonfiction. Preference is given to humorous submissions with an emphasis on travel. An anthology series is published annually.
Submitting your work
The Lowestoft Chronicle accepts submissions of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction year-round via email. There are no reading fees. Writers should submit up to three poems or one prose piece (under 3,000 words) at a time. The editors appreciate work that is polished, emotionally honest, and free of excessive experimental formatting. Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but please notify promptly if your work is accepted elsewhere. Response times typically range from two to four weeks. Familiarize yourself with recent issues before submitting to understand the journal's aesthetic, which favors narrative clarity and a touch of wit or melancholy.
Read our submission guidelines for details. E-mail submissions only. Does not accept previously published work.
