Editorial focus
Meraki Review is an international literary magazine that aims to corrode the cages of realistic thinking and help teenagers spread wide the wings of their psyche. It aims to be a global platform that shines spotlight on hidden voices and their galvanizing stories. It wants to change “stories allow us to escape from reality” to “stories allow us to change our reality.” It wants to be a platform where teenagers feel safe to express themselves freely and inspire each other to work harder, compounding to form a talented community.
Submitting your work
Before submitting, read at least one full issue to understand the editors' preference for work that feels personal and unforced. They favor poetry and short prose (under 2,000 words) that demonstrates careful lineation, concrete imagery, and an authentic voice; avoid overly abstract or ironic posturing. Visual art should be high-resolution and thematically aligned with the written content. Simultaneous submissions are generally accepted, but notify immediately upon acceptance elsewhere. Expect response times of 4–8 weeks, and do not query before that window. Include a brief, third-person bio and a note on what 'meraki' means to your practice—this contextualizes your work without oversharing.
We’re looking for submissions that dive deep into the chasmic synapses of your mind. Bring us dismembered writing that pieces itself together to reveal a stunning, resonant message. We crave the psychotic and raw, the blissful and enraged. We want finesse, but we revel in beautifully crafted chaos. Let your words be unrestrained, fearless, and unforgettable.
