Editorial focus
Metachrosis literary magazine is an online publication that strives to be the place where the foundations of the world are explored and celebrated. Created as part of the Art, Science, and Visual Thinking MFA at Dundee University, this magazine is open to all forms of writing, art, and hybrid work, whether creative or factual.
Submitting your work
Before submitting, read at least one full issue to understand the journal's taste for work that evolves on the page. Metachrosis favors writing that takes formal risks and avoids conventional narrative or lyric closure. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but notify the editors promptly if your work is placed elsewhere. Include a brief cover letter that contextualizes your process rather than listing credentials. Response times vary, but queries are welcomed after three months. The magazine nominates for Best of the Net and similar awards, so indicate if your submission is eligible.
All our issues are free on our website, and our masthead has a rotating list of links to publications that inspire us. Check them out. We love earnest explorations of niche topics. Make sure that all submissions are cleanly presented. The house font is Times New Roman; all formatting and recording of the work should be considered. Experiment, have fun, and take your time.
