Editorial focus
Launched in 2018, Milk Press is the literary and visual art journal of the Poetry Society of New York. Milk Press merges the poetic, visual, and digital art worlds by cultivating, presenting, and publishing multidisciplinary and collaborative work. These projects are fluid, nourishing, essential; spilt and split-open.
Submitting your work
Milk Press accepts rolling submissions for full-length manuscripts and chapbooks, but reading periods and guidelines can change. Before submitting, carefully review the current guidelines on their website. They value work that is emotionally resonant, formally inventive, and accessible. Simultaneous submissions are typically accepted, but notify them immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere. Include a brief cover letter with your publication history and a short bio. Because they are a small, volunteer-run operation, response times may be longer; patience is appreciated. They are particularly interested in poets from marginalized communities and those whose work challenges conventional boundaries.
