About the magazine
North of Oxford is an online literary and arts journal founded in 2013 by poet and editor Michael Dickel. Based in the Philadelphia area, it publishes poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, book reviews, and visual art on a rolling basis. The journal takes its name from the Oxford Circle neighborhood, but its scope is international, featuring both emerging and established voices. Its mission is to provide a welcoming yet discerning platform for work that is thoughtful, well-crafted, and often attuned to the nuances of place, memory, and social observation.
