About the magazine

The North Tahoe Community Alliance (NTCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the economic, social, and environmental vitality of North Lake Tahoe. Founded in 2019 through the consolidation of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, the NTCA administers the region’s Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) and serves as the destination marketing and management organization for the area. Its core mission is to steward North Tahoe’s unique mountain community by balancing tourism promotion with quality-of-life investments, including workforce housing, transportation, and environmental stewardship. The NTCA’s grant programs, such as the Event Funding Support (EFS) program, reflect this ethos by supporting events that align with community values and generate measurable local benefit.

Applicants should first review the NTCA’s current strategic priorities and the specific criteria for the Event Funding Support (EFS) program. Successful proposals typically articulate a clear connection to North Tahoe’s community values, provide realistic budgets, and demonstrate how the event will attract visitors while minimizing negative impacts. It is advisable to contact NTCA staff early to discuss eligibility and to ensure alignment with TBID guidelines. Applications are evaluated on their potential to generate overnight stays, support local businesses, and enhance the visitor experience, so concrete metrics and partnerships with local entities are strongly encouraged.
