Submitting your work
Before submitting, read the press's catalogue to understand its tonal range: it favors slow-burn tension, morally complex protagonists, and endings that unsettle rather than reassure. Query letters should be concise, professional, and include a brief synopsis, word count, and a sample of no more than ten pages. Simultaneous submissions are typically accepted, but notify promptly if the manuscript is placed elsewhere. Avoid generic comparisons to blockbuster authors; instead, situate your work within the lineage of literary horror or psychological suspense. Patience is advised—response times can be lengthy due to a small editorial team.
