About the magazine

POCIT (People of Color in Tech) is a digital media platform and community founded to amplify the voices and experiences of people of color in the technology industry. Established as a response to the persistent lack of diverse representation in tech media and leadership, POCIT operates primarily online, publishing articles, interviews, and commentary that center marginalized perspectives. Its core mission is to foster an inclusive tech ecosystem by providing a platform for underrepresented professionals to share their stories, challenges, and successes, thereby challenging the status quo and inspiring systemic change.

Submitting your work

Reading periodOpen now

POCIT welcomes pitches from writers, journalists, and tech professionals, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. They seek personal essays, reported pieces, and op-eds that offer fresh perspectives on tech culture, career experiences, and systemic issues. Before submitting, review their published content to understand their tone and focus. Pitches should be concise, include a clear angle, and explain why the story matters to their audience. Simultaneous submissions are generally discouraged, and response times may vary due to a small editorial team.
