About the magazine

Poemeleon: A Journal of Poetry is an online literary journal founded in 2005 by poet Cati Porter. From its inception, the journal has been dedicated to publishing a diverse range of poetic styles and voices, with a particular emphasis on the prose poem and other hybrid forms. Its mission is to provide a welcoming space for both emerging and established poets, fostering a community that values experimentation, accessibility, and the transformative power of language. The journal is published on a rolling basis, with themed issues that invite poets to explore specific topics or forms.

Editorial focus

Poemeleon: A Journal of Poetr y is a sporadically published online literary journal devoted to all kinds of poetry. Its founding principle is change. Each issue focuses on a different kind or aspect of poetry, with occasional guest-edited special issues. There is no set reading period and no set date for launching new issues. They always, eventually, respond. They are a slow-poetry model, so if you’re looking for a fast turnaround, you won’t get that here. They have been, on average, publishing one issue every other year.
