Editorial focus
Given their anticapitalist stance, Poetry Is Currency wants the poetry that means the most to you, regardless of marketability or monetary concerns. Anyone can send poems—they’re particularly interested in hearing from poets of traditionally marginalized and vulnerable groups and backgrounds (women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, etc.).
Submitting your work
Poets should approach submissions with a clear understanding of the project's conceptual underpinnings. Work that engages directly with themes of value, exchange, currency, or economic metaphor is most aligned with the curatorial vision. While formal experimentation is welcome, clarity of intent and a thoughtful engagement with the theme are paramount. Submissions are typically accepted via the website, and poets are encouraged to review past features to gauge the aesthetic and intellectual tenor of the platform.
