Progenitor Art and Literary Journal is a student-run publication based at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado. Founded to showcase the creative work of ACC students, faculty, and staff, as well as regional and national contributors, the journal has evolved into a respected literary and arts annual. Progenitor welcomes submissions of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art from ACC students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. Submissions are typically open in the fall and spring semesters; check the website for exact dates. Work should be original and previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are generally accepted, but notify immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere. Include a brief bio with your submission. The journal favors work that demonstrates craft, authenticity, and a unique perspective. For visual art, high-resolution images are required. There is no fee to submit. Response times vary but are usually within 2-3 months.
