About the magazine

Red Tree Review is an online literary journal founded in 2020 with the aim of publishing poetry that engages with the natural world, ecological themes, and the human place within them. The journal takes its name from the red tree—a symbol of resilience, seasonal change, and rootedness—and seeks work that is attentive to the environment, both in content and in craft. Since its inception, Red Tree Review has released biannual issues featuring a curated selection of poems, often accompanied by visual art, and has maintained a commitment to accessibility by offering its content free online. Its mission is to foster a community of readers and writers who value the intersection of language and the living world, without resorting to didacticism or sentimentality.

Editorial focus

Red Tree Review seeks to celebrate poems that surprise, harrow, and awe by providing them with a platform and hungry readers.
