About the magazine

Talking River Review is a literary journal based at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, founded in 1989. It publishes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, with a particular interest in work that engages with the landscapes, communities, and cultures of the American West, though it welcomes submissions from anywhere. The journal is produced by graduate and undergraduate students in the college's creative writing program, under the guidance of faculty editors, and has maintained a continuous print presence for over three decades. Its mission is to provide a platform for emerging and established writers while fostering a literary community in the Inland Northwest.
