About the magazine

The Q&A Queer Zine is a digital publication and platform dedicated to amplifying queer voices through interviews, essays, and visual art. Founded as a response to the lack of nuanced representation in mainstream media, it operates as a collaborative space where LGBTQ+ artists, writers, and thinkers can engage in critical dialogue. The zine prioritizes accessibility and community-building, often featuring work that explores intersectional identities and lived experiences. Its online format allows for broad reach while maintaining an intimate, conversational tone that distinguishes it from more institutional art publications.

Editorial focus

The Q&A Queer Zine is a small zine staffed by LGBTQ+ writers and visual artists. The need for community, support, and belonging brought this group together to ask fundamental questions about their place in the writing world and in history. The Q&A Queer Zine was the answer.

Artists and writers should approach The Q&A Queer Zine with a clear understanding of its interview-based, conversational format. Pitches should highlight a unique perspective or lived experience that aligns with the zine's intersectional queer focus. Since the platform is online and remote, submissions should be digital-ready, with high-resolution images and concise, engaging writing. It is advisable to review past issues to grasp the tone—personal, reflective, and critically aware—before submitting. Response times may vary due to the volunteer-run nature, so patience and professionalism are appreciated.
