About the magazine
Tris Journal is an online literary journal dedicated exclusively to the three-line poem. Founded with the conviction that constraint breeds inventiveness, the journal provides a focused platform for the tersest of poetic forms. Its mission is to celebrate the haiku, senryu, and other three-line structures, fostering a community of poets who find depth in brevity. By maintaining a narrow formal focus, Tris Journal cultivates a readership attuned to the nuances of minimalism and the resonance of a well-placed line break.
Submitting your work
Reading periodOpen now
Poets should submit only three-line poems, adhering strictly to the form. While traditional haiku themes of nature are welcome, the journal also appreciates contemporary and experimental approaches that respect the constraint. Simultaneous submissions are typically accepted, but notify promptly if the work is placed elsewhere. Include a brief cover letter with your submission, and proofread meticulously—every word counts in a three-line poem.
