About the magazine

Twin Bill is an independent curatorial project and exhibition platform founded in 2018 by artists and curators seeking to foster dialogue between visual art and performance. Operating nomadically across New York City, it stages paired presentations—hence the name—that place two distinct practices in conversation, often across disciplines. The organization prioritizes process over polish, encouraging artists to test ideas in provisional, site-responsive formats. Its core mission is to support early-career and underrepresented voices by offering a low-stakes, high-visibility context for experimental work.

Editorial focus

The Twin Bill is a quarterly literary baseball publication founded in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. The editors celebrate the rich history of the game while also recognizing its vibrant present through essays, fiction, poetry, interviews, and visual art. They welcome writers of all levels and experiences. They pay $10 a poem, $15 for CNF, and $25 for a short story. Each piece gets an original piece of artwork commissioned and writers have the chance to read their work on their podcast. It also produces a print edition of every issue.

Twin Bill accepts submissions on a rolling basis, with periodic open calls announced via its website and social media. Artists should submit a concise proposal (under 500 words) that outlines a project or body of work and suggests a potential pairing—whether thematic, material, or conceptual—with another artist or discipline. Include a brief artist bio, 5–10 images or work samples, and a link to a website. There is no application fee. Given the platform's nomadic nature, proposals that are adaptable to unconventional spaces and low-budget production are favored. Response times vary; follow up after eight weeks if you haven't heard back.

We want to hear your story about baseball. The more unexpected, the better.
