About the magazine

Two Hawks Quarterly is a literary journal founded in 2007 by the husband-and-wife team of David and Nancy Anderson. Rooted in a commitment to literary craft and the natural world, the journal takes its name from the two hawks that nested near the founders' home. It publishes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction that demonstrate a keen eye for detail, emotional resonance, and a sense of place. The journal has maintained a steady presence in the independent literary scene, offering a platform for both emerging and established voices.

Editorial focus

A digital literary journal brought to you by students and faculty in the BA in Liberal Studies Creative Writing Concentration at Antioch University Los Angeles. Two Hawks Quarterly is dedicated to publishing works that spark debate, challenge readers’ expectations, and take aesthetic risks. They seek exquisitely crafted fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and works that defy easy genre categorization.
