Inframince Journal: Poetry

Overview
Inframince Journal is a new online publication seeking poetry that interrogates the concept of fragmentation. For its inaugural issue, the journal positions fragmentation not merely as rupture but as a generative condition—one that reveals interstitial spaces, asynchronous movements, and oblique transformations. The call emphasizes work that pluralizes meaning, attending to what is split, concealed, or disclosed in the breaks. The journal operates without a submission fee, reflecting a commitment to accessibility. While no prize is offered, publication in a founding issue carries the weight of establishing a curatorial voice. The editorial vision is rooted in philosophical inquiry, drawing on the notion of the inframince—a term coined by Marcel Duchamp to describe the barely perceptible difference between two states. This suggests an interest in subtlety, liminality, and the poetics of the almost. Poets are invited to submit up to five poems in a single document. The journal seeks writing that engages with fragmentation as a formal and thematic concern, whether through fractured syntax, disjunctive narratives, or explorations of partiality. The selected works will shape the journal's identity, making this an opportunity for poets whose practice aligns with its cerebral and experimental ethos.
