Plenitude: Fiction Submission — US and International Writers
Overview
Plenitude Magazine, established as a platform for queer and trans literary voices, opens its fiction submission window to writers across the United States and internationally. The magazine seeks short stories that demonstrate craft, originality, and a nuanced understanding of narrative form. With a commitment to amplifying underrepresented perspectives, Plenitude provides a dedicated space for LGBTQ2S+ writers to publish work that might otherwise be marginalized in mainstream literary venues. The submission process is straightforward: writers may submit one short story of up to 5,000 words, double-spaced and paginated in a 12-point font. A cover letter is not required; instead, applicants provide their name, mailing address, email, story title, and a 50-word bio in the designated form field. Writers are invited to self-identify as BIPOC, trans, or disabled, though this is optional. The reading fee is $300 CAD per story, and submissions are limited to one per calendar year per genre. Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but writers must notify Plenitude immediately if their story is accepted elsewhere. Previously published work is not considered. Upon acceptance, Plenitude acquires first serial rights, with copyright remaining with the author. This call reflects Plenitude's ongoing dedication to fostering a vibrant literary community that values diversity, equity, and artistic excellence. The magazine's editorial vision centers on work that challenges conventions, explores intersectional identities, and contributes to the rich tapestry of contemporary queer literature. By offering a platform for both emerging and established voices, Plenitude continues to shape the landscape of LGBTQ2S+ storytelling.
