Barricade: Editors-At-Large

Overview
Barricade, a magazine with a translational and international literary focus, is expanding its Editorial Collective. The call is for Editors-At-Large (EAL), a two-tiered structure that allows accepted applicants to serve for one journal edition cycle. This is not a permanent editorial board position but a defined, project-based engagement. The EAL works closely with an Editorial Collective member to prepare a submitted manuscript for publication. Responsibilities include bilingual editorial review of submissions, according to linguistic competencies, and collaborative work with translators to produce a polished piece of writing and a contextualizing translator’s note. The EAL is not expected to participate in Collective responsibilities, making this a focused, manuscript-centered role. Upon successful completion of one issue, the EAL may be invited to continue. This opportunity is suited to those with editorial acumen, linguistic versatility, and a commitment to translation as a literary practice. There is no fee to apply, and the position is remote.
