Gaslamp Pulp: Gaslamp Pulp vol.7 FANTASY — Fiction

Overview
Gaslamp Pulp is a magazine with an evident investment in the pulp tradition—a lineage that runs from the early twentieth-century newsstand to contemporary genre writing that values narrative propulsion, atmosphere, and the strange. Volume 7 takes fantasy as its theme, though the editors are careful to frame pulp as a preference rather than a prescription. The result is a call that welcomes both the sword-and-sorcery lineage and work that engages fantasy as a mode rather than a marketing category. The submission parameters are notably generous. Writers may submit one to three short stories, one to five poems, or one to five images, with no word limit beyond the exclusion of novels. Previously published work is accepted, provided the writer discloses its history and it has not appeared in Nat 1. Simultaneous submissions are permitted, with the expectation that acceptance elsewhere be communicated so that first publication credit can be properly assigned. Contributors receive a free digital copy of the issue in which their work appears. There is no submission fee. The editorial guidelines are explicit about two matters. First, the magazine reads blind: no identifying information should appear on the submission, including the file name. Second, AI-generated submissions are not accepted, and the work must be original and free of copyright infringement, including fan fiction. Images will be printed in grayscale and must therefore function in black and white. The reading period runs through January 2027, following a 31 December 2026 deadline.
