PROSE: HUMBLE — Volume IX — Quibble Lit

Overview
Quibble is a literary magazine and collective that publishes contemporary writers and artists across print, online, and community programming. Its editorial posture favors writing that takes risks, asks difficult questions, and rewards sustained attention. Volume IX takes HUMBLE as its thematic prompt, though the theme is offered as a creative invitation rather than a constraint. The issue's conception of humility is not diminishment but epistemological openness: the recognition that certainty has limits, that attention and posture can change us, and that there is always something or someone we have not yet learned how to understand. Quibble seeks work that encounters those limits—narratives of revision, naivete, misjudgment, and discovery; writing that changes its mind or finds itself made strange by what it thought it knew. There is no submission fee. Prose submissions may include up to two pieces in a single document. The deadline is October 10, 2026. The journal's stated interest is in work with imagination and tension in it, and in writing that gives readers something worth lingering over.
