2026 Congressional Award

Overview
The Congressional Award is the United States Congress' award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive, open to all youth regardless of ability, circumstance, or socioeconomic status. Participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas: Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration. The program is designed to be flexible and self-paced. Participants may work individually or with friends, and the award honors the achievement of personal goals rather than past accomplishments. There are no minimum grade point average requirements, and the program accommodates young people with special needs or disabilities who are willing to take on the challenge. Earning the Award is intended to be a fun and interesting way to become more involved in an existing interest or to try something new. The structure encourages sustained commitment and personal growth across multiple dimensions of life.
