SRPR — Poetry Open Reading Period 2026–2027
Overview
SRPR is a literary magazine that publishes new, previously unpublished poetry, including translations, multilingual poems, and long poems up to ten pages. The journal seeks first serial rights in North America (FNASR) for selected works, with rights reverting to the author upon publication. There is no submission fee, and simultaneous submissions are accepted. Response times may take up to one year. The reading period is open from September 1 to February 28 each year, with a final deadline of March 1, 2027. Submitters should send up to five poems, accompanied by a brief cover letter listing the titles and a short biography. The journal considers all types of poetry, though its fixed letter half trim size may limit poems with long lines or complex formatting; work that would not be well served by the journal's dimensions may be refused. SRPR's curatorial vision emphasizes accommodating formally experimental or long-line poetry where possible, but prioritizes work that fits the journal's physical format. The magazine publishes only new, unpublished poetry and seeks FNASR. There is no prize or monetary award associated with publication.
