Barbara Payton

Barbara Payton (1927–1967) was an American film actress who appeared in Hollywood films from 1949 and was known for her troubled personal life and struggles with alcohol and drugs. Late in her life she worked as a prostitute, and her 1963 memoir, I Am Not Ashamed, recounts this period. Spurl Editions publishes a edition of that memoir, which is her only work linked to the press on these pages.
