Claudia Meléndez Salinas

Claudia Meléndez Salinas is a journalist, poet, and author born in Puebla, Mexico, who has worked in journalism and writing for about three decades. She co-founded Voices of Monterey Bay, a bilingual online news magazine, and lives in Salinas, California. Her first book, A Fighting Chance, was published by Arte Público Press in 2015. Her poetry has won the 2022 RedWheelbarrow Poetry Award and has appeared in La Raíz Magazine, among other places.
