D. N. Simmers

D. N. Simmers was a Vancouver poet whose published work includes four collections issued by Silver Bow Publishing of New Westminster, BC. He wrote in a Whitman-influenced and Beat-inflected style focused on everyday life. He was a Vice President of the White Rock and Surrey Writers Club and an online special editor for Fine Lines, and he judged poetry contests. He was also active in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside Writing Collective. Simmers died in 2020 according to one review, and a later tribute says his death came in July. His final collection, Traveling Detours and U-Turns, was published posthumously.
