Jie Cohen

Jie Cohen is a mixed, intersex poet whose work has appeared in or is forthcoming in a range of literary journals. Their poem "THE FUTURE" received a Best of the Net award in 2023, and "fairy-cherry" won the 2024 Singapore Unbound Poetry Prize. They were also longlisted for The Disquiet Prize in Poetry in 2025. Cohen currently lives and teaches in Central Asia. Their debut chapbook, Venus Limbs, was published by Thirty West Publishing House in 2025 as part of The Blooming Series. The book is a surreal work told partly from the point of view of the Venus of Willendorf, addressing medical treatment of fatness, chronic illness, and intersex bodies.
