MARS Marshall

MARS Marshall is a poet, writer, cultural organizer, and film photographer. The pages describe Marshall as born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, though the publisher page says Los Angeles. Marshall's debut poetry collection, FLOWER BOI, was published by Gold Line Press, the USC Dornsife teaching press. The book is a series of poems about a Black Queer and Trans coming-of-age in Detroit. The collection was praised by Tommye Blount and included in the CLMP Pride Month 2023 reading list. Marshall also took part in a Haymarket House conversation about the anthology Black Summers.
