Merel Roijaards

Merel van Erpers Roijaards is a visual artist and costume designer from the Netherlands who also works as a textile worker and seamstress. She was a resident at the Bulbul art residency in Bishkek. Her practice spans textiles, performance and site-specific installation, often built around a "frame story" of folklore, bodies, queerness and folk music. She describes her work as parts of a larger evolving opera.
