The Pitt Poetry Series accepts submissions annually from August 1 to September 30. Poets should submit a complete manuscript of 48–80 pages, accompanied by a cover letter and a table of contents. The press values work that demonstrates formal control, emotional resonance, and a distinctive voice. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please notify the press immediately if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of materials if submitting by mail. Electronic submissions are preferred via the press’s online portal. Familiarize yourself with recent titles in the series to understand the aesthetic range. The press does not consider translations or anthologies for this series.
