About the magazine

Full Bleed is a nonprofit arts organization and biannual print journal founded in 2017 by a collective of artists, writers, and designers. It emerged from a desire to create a critical space where visual art and literary practices intersect without hierarchy, emphasizing work that is formally adventurous and conceptually rigorous. The journal's founding ethos is rooted in the belief that thoughtful, slow-looking engagement with art and text can resist the commodified rhythms of contemporary culture. Each issue is organized around a thematic provocation, inviting contributors to respond through essays, interviews, poetry, fiction, and visual portfolios. Full Bleed operates as a collaborative platform, prioritizing emerging and underrepresented voices alongside established practitioners, and maintains a commitment to accessible, beautifully designed print objects.

Editorial focus

Full Bleed exists to cultivate that fertile ground where the visual and literary arts intersect. The editors are happy to consider criticism, belle-lettres , visual art, illustration, fiction, poetry, and graphic essays. The journal is especially interested in promoting innovative projects combining word, image, and design; collaborations between writers and artists; ekphrastic creations; and groundbreaking critical essays.
