Sato Sugamoto

Sato Sugamoto is a Tokyo-born sculptor and visual artist now based in London, working with colorful fibers and electrical cords to create entangled, conceptual installations. Her work explores the tension between social conformity and personal independence in Japanese society. She was an International Residency artist at NARS Foundation in Brooklyn in 2023. She holds a BFA from Tokyo University of the Arts (2013) and is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
