Editorial focus
The mission of the Baltimore Review is to showcase Baltimore as a literary hub of diverse writing and promote the work of emerging and established writers from the U.S. and beyond. The journal publishes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction in quarterly online issues and an annual print compilation.
Submitting your work
Writers should submit their strongest, most polished work, adhering strictly to the journal's guidelines regarding genre, length, and formatting. The Baltimore Review values originality, emotional resonance, and craft. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but writers should notify the journal promptly if their work is accepted elsewhere. Reading periods are typically open for several months each year, and submissions are accepted via the online portal. Familiarize yourself with the journal's aesthetic by reading recent issues before submitting.
