Editorial focus
Five Points seeks work that is original, imaginative, and informed by craft. Generally prose pieces usually run no longer than 7,500 words, and they invite poetry in both closed and open forms.
Submitting your work
Five Points accepts submissions via Submittable during reading periods, which are typically announced on their website and social media. Fiction submissions should be under 7,500 words, and poets may submit up to five poems. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but notify immediately if accepted elsewhere. Include a brief cover letter with publication credits, if any. Response times vary, often taking several months, so patience is advised. The editors appreciate work that demonstrates a strong sense of voice and narrative control.
We no longer accept mail submissions. Please check the website to see if submissions are open.
