Thimble Literary Magazine is a quarterly online publication founded in 2014 by poet and editor Jennifer Lothrop. The magazine emerged from a desire to create a space for poetry that is both accessible and deeply felt, prioritizing clarity of image and emotional resonance over theoretical obscurity. Thimble accepts poetry submissions year-round via Submittable, with no reading fee for general submissions. Editors appreciate poems that are grounded in concrete imagery and avoid abstraction for its own sake. Before submitting, read at least one full issue to understand the magazine's tonal range—favoring clarity, emotional depth, and a sense of discovery. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but notify immediately if a piece is taken elsewhere. Include a brief cover letter with your name, contact information, and a short bio; no need for extensive publication lists. Response times typically range from two to four months.

We are open for submissions February, March, May, June, August, September, November, and December. In other words, all months except January, April, July, and October.
