About the magazine

Lunch Ticket is the literary and art journal of the MFA in Creative Writing program at Antioch University Los Angeles, a program with a deep commitment to social justice and the belief that writing can be a force for change. Founded in 2012, the journal takes its name from the idea that art should be as essential and accessible as a daily meal, offering a space for emerging and established voices to share work that is both artistically rigorous and socially engaged. The journal publishes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art, with a particular interest in work that explores issues of identity, community, and equity. Its mission is to nurture a diverse literary ecosystem, reflecting the university's progressive ethos and its dedication to mentoring writers who write with purpose.
